Michael is out of hospital after having Dengue Fever........great news!!
Dengue fever is contracted from a mosquito bite. It is from a specific type of 'white mosquito' normally only around during the day & likes living around puddles! (There have been plenty of them recently). No matter how much Deet & anti-malerial tablets you take, they are immune & like sucking the life out of people......quite literally. Unfortunately, Mike was bitten at some point over the last 8 weeks. Symptoms are severe with vomittig, extremely high fever, sweating.........you get the picture!?
Thankfully he is on the mend & top of our priority list is to make sure he recovers fully & rests as much as possible. There is only one way to do that by Ellison standards - in pure luxury!
So, we checked into Jamahkiri resort, Ko Tao on Thursday & plan to spend a few days here. It is like a romantic paradise. Koh Tao has been amazing, it's water, beaches & bungalows like something out of a postcard. This place is set apart & could possibly be one of the most luxurious places I've stayed. (A big statement after staying at 'the
g' in Galway). Definitely deserving of it......
After a 1km drive up a dirt track to get here we opted for a beachfront pavillion (otherwise known as a Bungalow in backpackers language!!) It has spectacular views of the sea from bed & is exactly what the doctor ordered! Complete with power shower (an unseen luxury in Thailand) & minibar, we settled in with some room service & DVD library at our disposal! Even the 198 steps up to reception from our room doesn't make us appreciate this place any less!
I am pleased to say that Michael is sleeping lots, eating well and recovering from the last few days. We have been making best use of the spa facilities!
As our plans have changed to stay on Koh Tao for a while longer, we have decided to bypass Malaysia & head straight to Singapore from Koh Samui. We're leaving for Bali on 17th & really looking forward to seeing Jen. Oh what a hard life we have!!!
Anyway, thanks for all the messages from home & we send our love to everyone & really mean it when we say:
WISH YOU
WERE HERE!!

Top Tip -
1. Make sure you have sufficient travel insurance. It's worthwhile paying to have 'no excess.' This can take alot of the worry away as the insurance company will want to get you the best possible care.
2. Enjoy every minute of your travels, you never know when something may get in the way & change your plans.......if that happens, find the most luxurious place you can & chill there with a BIG smile on your face!!
Get Out!The bathroom has a 'jungle window' incase you get bored & need something to look at!
Monkey WarningSarah actually got grabbed by a Monkey after ignoring this sign!!!
