| 24th December 2008 Maggie | MEGMEGMEGMEGMEGMEGMEG - From: HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Welcome home, sugar! Hope you have a fabulous holiday -- I'm going to be utterly off my nut until about January 12th, but after that (you're still going to be around, yes? YES??) we need to hang out. For serious. I miss you, chica. Also, if you're not going to be around after that, you're going to get worked into my batsh*t schedule. Just be warned that I am probably not going to be firing on all cylinders. |
| 5th December 2008 MooseIsLoose | Gotta Love Europe - From: London calling... I have to laugh that you JUST got your residency permit. I handed in the paperwork in early November, and then 10 days later went back and picked up my Aufenthaltstitel. They spelt my name wrong on it, so then I had to go back 10 days after that, but I still got it before you. Got to love the difference between the Latin countries and the Germanic/Slavic countries! Have fun in London, I'll be in Salzburg! |
| 12th November 2008 mom | birthday refrain . . . - From: Birthday ŕ Paris "H a p p y B i r t h - d a y t o o o Y o o u u u !" |
| 9th November 2008 MooseIsLoose | - From: VIENNA! photographs I'm quite proud of what you've learnt, but you need to use Umlaut! (ä, ü, ö) They change the pronunciation and meanings of words! Like Scönbrunn, schön is beautiful, schon is already. Peter Gabriel--Architect and Engineer in Vienna haha Nice try :-P ISN'T MY COUNTRY PRETTY?! |
| 2nd November 2008 MooseIsLoose | - From: Vienna or bust Hey, you got a pretty awesome tour of Vienna [minus some geographical slip-ups], if I do say so myself! You guys are also welcome to come down here since I still haven't heard from my boss, but that'll be pretty expensive for you non-Austrians....ug, Frenchies. Actually, it just occurred to me you're without computer, and mein Handy [cell phone] isn't letting me send text messages at the moment, so I have to go tomorrow and fight with T-Mobile about it, but I'll probably just call or text you then. Why am I still writing? |
| 7th October 2008 Leah | - From: laundromats, video games, and french universities...oh my! What a nice room! AND I'm totally jealous that your host family has a cat. |

| 3rd October 2008 cindy lucio | paris - From: melanzana meg, it is great to see you in paris and to know exactly where you are since i just was there myself! one of my favorite memories from this summer was when miguel and i chased a baggett delivery guy (on foot) around the corners and alleys as he was making a delivery, hoping to get a fresh hot loaf from him. We followed at a distance for several blocks and finally found the store he went into and bought a loaf he delivered and then ate it, with cheese, for lunch, in a beautiful park. (can't rmember the area, but a series of parks with water fountains and ping pong tables and trees trimmed up into boxes that were floating on trunks). enjoy your time in france and go to giverny before it gets too cold! |
| 27th September 2008 mom | live like a true nomad - From: un nouveau logement (new apartment) maybe you should get yourself a yurt! then you'd always have place to live - no matter where you are! |
| 23rd September 2008 MooseIsLoose | Teo - From: hello hello A few spelling errors, but I can't complain, 'cause my English is rapidly deteriorating on this end of Europe... :-P |
| 18th September 2008 DX | - From: logement...aka confusion? ok meg. im all caught up now. so my sister's mother in law is french (lives in DC now) but grew up in France and whatnot. | 24th August 2008 Zack ... zgress | WoAH - From: a little more awake this time I would never want to buy a phone in France. The horror... the horror.... What's your French phone number? I would like to call it sometime, if only to hear your French answering machine message. |
| 23rd August 2008 Teo | Buhhh #2 - From: photos are up Also, like the German greeting [hallo!] haha |
| 23rd August 2008 Teo | Buhhhhhh - From: photos are up I did the same thing with the sandwiches and stuff in San Sebastian [Spain] a few years ago. Damn siesta. Everything was closed except this little grocery store and everything was in Basque, not in Spanish, so we ended up buying bread and lunch meats and ate along the bay. Was great. Well, I didn't make a sandwich, I just had a pint of Ben & Jerry's instead. Foretelling my future at UVM? Perhaps. That's all! Still ridiculously jealous! |
| 22nd August 2008 Ryan Salocks | PICTURES! - From: a little more awake this time TAKE PICTURES!!!! I WANT TO SEE PARIS!!!! No pressure though... |
| 21st August 2008 Matteo | jaloux - From: euh, je suis en france JE SUIS SI JALOUX! JUSTE UNE SEMAINE ET DEMI DE PLUS POUR MOI, ET J'Y SERRAI AUSSI!! |
| 20th August 2008 Maggie | Woo-hoo!! - From: euh, je suis en france Yay Meg!! You should totally meet up with Matthieu. Has he emailed you? He's not getting in to Paris until like 11pm on Friday, but y'all could have brunch on Saturday morning before he flies out ... it'd be fun, you know you wanna! We miss you something awful. The shop's gone crazy - Juanita's out for 6 weeks (at least), Badia's flipped out about the AC again, Clare is not a happy camper to be left with a shop to manage with just her and Ban (as of the end of next week), and somehow the "We're hiring!" sign didn't go up until today. Whut? But beyond logistical insanity, it's also just not the same place without Batman. And, you know, I don't think there have been any Beatles songs played since you left! But I bought Across the Universe off iTunes today, so I can watch it and think of you :) Yay Meg! |
| 20th August 2008 mama | en francais s'il vous plait - From: Almost there felicitations!! Tu as arrivé!! (feel free to correct the french!) :) |

You might find me on your doorstep in Paris. I found my turtle, and he back in his happy home in my ear, not to leave again for quite some time. Yay adventure! Go Meg! |
