Would a book of your blogs make a good present?

Would you give somebody a book of your blogs as a present? What would you think if somebody gave you a book of their blogs as a present?

That's what Christmas is for Jonathon ;-)

That brings to mind something I was thinking about. Would anybody ever give a book of their blogs to somebody as a present or would that seem arrogant?
I asked my boyfriend if he would like a book of my blogs when I have enough of them to make one. He said he would. But I am not sure I would dare give one to anybody else.

Also, what would you think if one of your friends or family members gave you a book of their blogs as a present?

I have to admit that the idea has crossed my mind. It wouldn't be a money-making excercise, just a way of having something tangible to remember my travels by. My parents would want one, maybe a couple of my friends, and I could keep one on my coffee table.

I think an important question is "why can't I just read it on TravelBlog?" - if I were to turn mine into a book, I'd edit it and add some more paragraphs, and include some of my older Russia diaries as a 'bonus'. Maybe I'd find room for an article I'm working on at the moment that won't be part of my TravelBlog page.

- How many copies of the "Best of 2008" book have you sold?

I would be more likely to give a book of the best of TravelBlog as a present then a book of my own blogs. That would seem less pushy somehow.

Hi Mell,

Fun post you have here...that's what my Mum just did. She took my entries over a year, work over it on the computer, had send it to a printing company...and now I wait to see it. If I'm lucky she may do it every year.

It's only to keep on the sofa table, and mainly for my kids later on as they are a lot in it too.

Now the main question with the book is why we write on the public space....I guess for some the pleasure of being read by few or many is exciting...for me it's just a way to keep friends update...that's why I try to have my entry post in as soon as I leave a place...it's a fresh impression, no second reading...well, that may not be the best idea...but it's how I lve it. If I had to start blogging on my travel prior to May 2007...would take me years...

For me it is someplace to put them. I used to keep them in my email and lost a bunch of them because the hotmail people deleted them. That was when server space was a lot more limited than it is these days.
