hiya guys,
As Christmas is getting nearer it is definately getting alot hotter here so i think i need to work on the suntan a bit.
Thur 16th Dec
Pop into town this morning to get something and decide that i will get some info on parasailing (xmas present to myself). On the way back we go to The Nobbies (big rocks in the sea before your minds start wandering elsewhere). Whilst on the boardwalk we look underneath it and see some little penguins they are soooooo cute and tiny. We get the binoculars out and have a look at one of the islands as there is always thousands of seals on there, but they look like black dots as they are really far away. We have a look at Smiths beach on the way back and also pass the Grand Prix motor racing circuit. When we return to the house i book in to go parasailing for saturday woohoo i can't wait. I finally get round to watching the film 'Finding Nemo' as i thought i should get a bit of information about Australias sealife (only joking) but what a great film, im 24, honestly. The afternoon comes
My new buddyMe at the Penguin parade with my huge cuddly friend
and it is gorgeous so i think a bit of sunbathing and surfer spotting is in aid for. I go to the beach only to find that the surf is in so i lay on the bench half way down the stairs to the beach. I get my kit off and set up camp and get nicely suprised by two gorgeous surfers (no im not dreaming) one of them is singing so i ask him why he is so happy and let them get on their way. I can't sit in the sun for long and there is no sign o the gorg surfers coming back so i go back to the house and pick up Sandy for his walk on the beach, and who should i bump into on the way down to the beach but the two gorg surfers. I speak to them for a mo about surfing then get dragged off by a very eager Sandy.
Later that evening Judy takes me to the Penguin Parade to watch the penguins come in from the sea. At about 9pm you see them start creeping out of the surf then getting back in again, they keep doing this until they get a big enough group of them to brave walking up the beach to their nests. They are funny little things to watch waddling up the beach stopping and starting again. We watch them wander off to go and find their burrows with their little fluffy chicks in tow. One thing i have learn't about penguins which i have always been curious of is why they are half black and half white. Well here it goes to you who don't know, they are black on their backs so when they are swimming in the sea birds of prey can't see them against the dark water and their bellys are white so when they are in the water predators can't see them as they think the white is the sun sparkling through the surface, so there you go i've learn't something new.
